Penelope Cruz has given birth to her first child. The Spanish star apparently welcomed her bundle of joy on the same day her husband Javier Bardem received an Oscar nomination, said Spanish newspaper El Pais.
Congratulation for Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are celebrating the birth of a baby boy.
The power couple's first child was born at Los Angeles' Cedars Sinai Hospital last Saturday. Cruz was surrounded by her family, including her mother Encarna and her sister and brother, Monica and Eduardo. Cruz and Bardem, who married last year, met on the set of Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
The birth came the same day Bardem received his third Oscar nomination, for Biutiful. Bardem won an Oscar three years ago for his role in No Country for Old Men and was previously nominated in 2001 for Before Night Falls.
Oscar-winner Penelope had spoken about her desire for motherhood, saying: "I think I would be a perfect mother. I love babies."
